    James Oss - STEM Summer Camp Counselor Denver

    A junior in high school at Thomas Jefferson, James has been into robotics his whole life.  At school he is a third year robotics student and is taking software engineering next year. Outside of school James plays guitar with his band and love adventures.  Climbing, camping, fishing, and exploring are right up his alley.  He is overjoyed to be helping lead TECH Summer Camps in Denver at Silicon STEM Academy, and to be part of the SSA family.

    My name is Christie and I’m a biomedical engineering major and mathematics minor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’ve been programming for 6 years, since I was a freshman in high school.  I have experience with several different programming languages as well as circuits and arduino electronics.  It’s going to be a great summer and I’m excited to spend it in Denver teaching TECH Summer Camps for kids and teens at SSA!

    Megan is an undergraduate student at New York University Abu Dhabi. She is majoring in Computer Science and specializing in Natural Science but still loves the occasional art or literature class. She enjoys traveling and anything that involves problem solving including coding, sewing, knitting, and cooking.




  • DPS on strike?  NO PROBLEM! Keep your kiddos busy, learning, and having fun all day long with our STEM Day Camps during the strike. Campers will enjoy 2 fun ‘classes’ per day (see daily details below), exploring a variety of beginner STEM subjects. Camps are open from 9am–4pm each day with optional 8am drop off. Recommended for ages 7-12.

    Description: Aspiring game designers will learn MIT’s dynamic interactive game creation & story telling platform called Scratch. This program offers an introduction to programming, as campers learn how to animate characters, build interactive games, and create fun stories in this drag-n-drop block coding environment.


    Spring Break Camp Simple MachinesSimple Machines with K’nex

    Description: This camp explores the incredible world of “simple machines” and mechanical devices that use physics concepts to multiply force and to change direction and magnitude. Students build their contraptions using levers, pulleys, axles, wedges and wheels.

    SummerCamp JuniorCodersMobile App Creator with Bitbox

    Description:  Campers will be introduced to the world of Mobile App Game Design with the fun “Robo Boogie” Bitsbox curriculum. Bitsbox teaches text-based coding basics, including variables, inputs and game animators. Campers can easily share their apps to any mobile device. (Parents…prepare to be amazed.) No prior experience is required.

    Description: Campers will have the chance to program and operate the small-but-mighty Edison Robot. We’ll train our robots’ sensors to avoid obstacles, follow lines, react to lights & sound and even interact with other camper’s bots!

    SummerCamp Physics Fun (Phun)Physics "Phun"

    Description:  In this hands-on camp, we’ll explore mechanical engineering principles to ‘invent’ objects can throw, float & fly. Students will build and compete with popsicle stick catapults, gumdrop bridges and spaghetti ‘houses’ using every-day objects.
