FULL 6-WEEK COURSE
For the student with an already busy schedule, and wants to learn to code - a "Crash Course" is a mini 9 hour class which meets only 1-day a week and requires students to do about an hour of homework between classes. Includes online office hours for assistance.
The Crash Course teaches what it truly means to code allowing students to develop their problem-solving skills using a hands-on approach in fun and interactive ways. Students learn all of the critical fundamentals of programming, including syntax, code commenting, control structures and overall readability. Students begin with the use of the Karel programming language - Silicon STEM is one of the only certified providers in Colorado teaching this educational language from Stanford University - a required course for incoming Stanford freshman.
If you, or your student, have attempted to learn online, have gotten too frustrated and have maybe even thought that programming is not for them, or just ready for more than what their school can provide...then this class is for you. We'll get you going fast and build a foundation for you to build upon for the rest of your future. This IS the first step!
Students may join this class completely online from the comfort of home or work. SSA has it's own virtual classroom platform and students can access the live instruction from either a PC or MAC. Full signon instructions will be sent just prior to the start of class.
