Combine electronic components with friendly materials -- paper and fabric -- to create objects that teach science and circuitry concepts in a hands-on way. Emphasis will be on skill-building, creative collaboration and exploration. This class introduces technology in a fun and approachable way, even if you don't think tech is for you.
Dates: February 1 – March 1
This “maker” class emphasizes the use of Arduino-based electronics for the purpose of solving everyday problems. Arduino is an open-source hardware and software platform that makes interactive projects easy to build and manipulate. In this hands-on class, students will use variable resistors, LEDs, push buttons and more as they create a series of circuits on a 'breadboard.'
Dates: Wednesdays, March 8 – April 12
CLASS IN SESSION – REGISTRATION CLOSED
Intro to Robotics
This course utilizes the robust, aircraft-grade aluminum TETRIX robotics building system, which features powerful 12V servo motors and a dynamic electronics distribution. Students learn the Engineering Design Process as they to conceptualize, plan, construct, and operate robots which will perform a wide variety of robotic functions.
Dates: Wednesdays, April 26 – May 24
